About Me

So who am I & why did I build this site?

My name is Thomay Kamberos & my family is descended from Kastanitsa.

I currently live in Melbourne, Australia with my husband Emmanuel, newborn Ignatios & my dog Falcor. I originally come from Sydney & my family still live there. I have traveled back to Greece on many occasions & simply love my village Kastanitsa. So much so, that my family & I have built a house there for us to go back to (on the 'Galata' side). So why do I love it so much you ask? I would have to say two things. Firstly for it's lush valleys & picturesque views & secondly for the amazingly kind & hospitable people. 'Kastanitsiotes' are renowned for their warm & outgoing manner.
